A student was arrested earlier today after a .22 caliber rifle was found in the backseat of the student’s car in the H Lot
“While the student was cooperative, stating the rifle was used for target practice, the college community should be reminded that weapons of any kind are prohibited on campus. At no time was there any threat present, made, or implied to harm others,” said Fred Aliberti in an email.
This morning, around 10:30 a.m., North Greenbush Police said, a witness saw a .22 caliber rifle in the student’s vehicle.
The student’s name has also not yet been released. The student, charged with criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds will be arraigned in North Greenbush Town Court later today.
