The Hudsonian is the exclusive student multimedia organization of Hudson Valley Community College.

The Hudsonian’s sister podcast, The Hud., can be accessed on YouTube, Spotify, Anchor, as well as a variety of other platforms.

The Hudsonian, the student newspaper of HVCC, received third place honors nationally at the College Media Association National College Media Convention in New York, New York in 2019.

In 2015, the paper placed ninth overall in the newly-expanded category for two-year college newspapers in Austin, Texas. There were more than 50 entries in the category. In 2014, The Hudsonian placed fourth in the competition for two-year school tabloids.  In 2018, The Hudsonian placed ninth in the competition out of 52 schools in Louisville, Kentucky.

It is the policy of Hudson Valley Community College, through the publication of The Hudsonian, to keep the campus informed of school and local news and events. The main objective of The Hudsonian is to inform the HVCC community and teach students how to report news and publish a newspaper, in accordance with generally accepted journalistic principles.

Any unauthorized use of the newspaper’s name and/or articles with-out permission is strictly prohibited. Violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and of Hudson Valley Community College’s penal system. Additional information regarding printed material can be obtained by contacting The Hudsonian office on the second floor of the Siek Campus Center.

If you would like to join The Hudsonian, please come to our weekly meetings at 2 pm in room ADM 105. Or, you can stop by our office, CTR 291 on the 2nd floor of Siek Campus Center. Any HVCC students may contribute to The Hudsonian, in fact, guest contributors may submit pieces for publication at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
