“I always loved music. I feel like [when] I can tell a story and talk about how I am feeling, it helps a lot,” said 20-year-old music artist Blizzy Staxx, stylized as $taxx, who recently released a full-length project titled “Bad Vibes” on SoundCloud.

“Bad Vibes” is a cohesive and diverse odyssey through the emotions of a young artist trying to shake the pressures of the world that all of us deal with personally.

“Bad Vibes” holds true to its namesake by giving us a ride on Staxx’s ups and downs. At times he embraces the bad vibes bestowed upon him, and other times he feels the pressures cracking his mental stability. If you’re going to diverge into his work you better prepare yourself for the rollercoaster to come. Strap in, enjoy the highs, and be engulfed by the lows.

Staxx is the epitome of the internet age artist. He has an electric style, pulling colors for his palette from different genres such as metal and hip hop showing that he’s not afraid to use them. Sharp in precision, he paints each track with a focused direction, with one track being muted greys while another being completely saturated in reds and blues.

“At the time making the project I really felt how the tracks sounded. I felt like I was a bad vibe,” Staxx said. “This project was really a release for me [and] that’s why it sounds so honest,” he continued. “The track “losing my mind”  is about my boy that died in the military. Just one take of how I was feeling. I took my time with it though, I always do [because] I don’t like to rush the process.”

“I know a lot of people can relate and have gone through what I go through [and] I know my audience likes that they’re getting something different and don’t know what to expect,” Staxx said. “I really wanted to show my artistry and show that I am really unique, I know no one sounds like me.”

When you are able to truly trust and connect with an artist it makes for quite a different listening experience. An experience that Blizzy Staxx strives to capture and give his audience with each track.

“I feel like what I have coming next people are going to notice. I want to be an underground legend,” he said. “People are going to see the growth and understand me more as an artist. I want to touch on the corruption that plagues our country.”

Staxx has performed at some of the largest venues in New York’s capital region, dropped cinematic level visuals and even opened up for hip-hop superstar Gunna.

This is quite an impressive track record for such a short amount of time and bigger ventures are undoubtedly on the horizon for Staxx.

Whether or not you agree with the subject matter you can not discredit the honesty or the dedication Blizzy Staxx puts into his craft. You can find his work on SoundCloud by searching Blizzy $taxx.  Final review 8/10
