It’s the new restaurant that’s redefining food menus in several areas around the Capital Region. Bowled is a restaurant that offers foods like salads, acai bowls, and smoothies. With locations in Schenectady, Scotia, Malta, and more coming soon in Troy, Latham, and Utica, Bowled seeks to provide easy, healthy on-the-go food options.

Upon entering the Malta location, one will find themselves greeted by employees behind a counter ready to serve them. You’ll then proceed to a spacious storefront with lots of light, making it a relaxing place to sit and eat. You’ll find music playing, perhaps a tad bit too loud to hear the waiter or waitress taking your order. However, the order is easy to pick despite a large menu.

Bowled has build-your-own options and a list of pre-chosen salads, acai bowls, grain bowls. As well as waffles, toast, and smoothies. They make everything in front of you and even cook the meats to order.

The order took about five minutes for our bowls to be ready. Not bad for all to be made at the moment. They pack it up in a reusable container with silverware and napkins and you are all set to go.

Regarding the food, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The order was healthy and packed with flavor. The rice was warm and not overcooked and was a nice meal to accompany a bit colder of a day. Usually, I am not a fan of uncooked vegetables, but it mixed together well and ended up being tasty. The spicy chicken was surprisingly packed with flavor and was truly spicey. I did not expect it to be as powerful as it was.

Overall, Bowled is a perfect local restaurant to go to with friends, or by yourself.
