Food Review: Joe’s Crab Shack

Going to Joe’s Crab Shack in Latham was a good experience for me and others around me. This is the first Joe’s Crab Shack in the area and it opened in September.

I went there around six, right around the dinner hour, and it was busy with people. Even though it has been open for a few months, Joe’s is still very popular in the community, unlike other local chains that have come into town, like Krispy Kreme.

Joe’s is a vibrant and exciting place to walk into. The hostess was very kind and updated us on how much longer our wait would be. Our waiter was professional, knowing the menu when we asked about our options.

During our wait for the food, there was plenty of entertainment for the customers. The workers did many dances as they brought the food out to the tables and that was a crowd pleaser.

As for the food, it was very nice. I am a big fan of seafood. For a starter, I had the seafood sampler, which was fried carp, calamari, and chips. The calamari was excellent, especially for its price of $11.

For the main course, I ordered the steam pot classic, which consisted of king crab legs, lobster tail, clams, and vegetables. I paid $21 for the main meal, which was really good considering the number of things they gave me. When you go to other seafood places, such as Red Lobster, they charge around $20 just for the king crab legs.

I had a great time wearing the bib they give you and that was a memorable moment for me. Joe’s really did a great job all around. Besides the slight wait, the service was also excellent.

Students would enjoy visiting Joe’s because it is a hot spot for any seafood lover and a great place to go have a good time. They even have specials once in a while for college students, so that’s another reason to go to Joe’s.

Overall Joe’s Crab Shack was an exciting restaurant to go to that was much anticipated by the community. As their saying goes, and I agree, “Eat at Joe’s.”
