The campus community celebrated and cheered on the football team before they departed for the Salt City Bowl in Kansas.

“We are grateful, humbled and absolutely thrilled to be playing in one of only seven postseason bowl games in the NJCAA,” said Athletic Director Kristan Pellitier.

Students, faculty, and supporters packed into the McDonough Sports Complex along for a send-off party that included food and an exciting atmosphere. Fly92 provided music and the event garnered local media coverage.

“This season, the members of the 2014 football program have had the opportunity to grow as students, athletes, and most importantly, as people,” said Pellitier.

The football team currently has an 8-1 record, which is the best for a Hudson Valley team since 1996. They will take on #4 Hutchinson Community College on Dec 6. There will be a live viewing party in the BTC.

“We are really, really proud of this group of young men. Not only for what they are doing on the football field, but for what they are doing in the classroom and representing this college. I would like to congratulate all of them,” said Hudson Valley President Drew Matonak.

“I’d like to thank you for being here today, but more importantly I’d like to thank you for being here all season,” said Head Coach Mike Muehling to the crowd of supporters. “We’ve definitely felt your encouragement we’ve felt your support this season much more so than ever before.”
