To the reader,

Around this time of year, club budgets are due. Many student organizations have a certain amount of money that is needed for operation.

To combat any cases of being low on money, some organizations choose to participate in fundraising activities, for which there are many idea. One of the most popular fundraiser ideas is a bake sale.

The Hudsonian, too, has engaged in this fun plan. But what makes this so popular?

Bake sales can be time consuming, but allow the club to interact with members of the student body and spread awareness of their club’s function.

However, by admission, they don’t have high fiscal return. What’s the solution? Try a few different fundraising plans. Here are a few suggestions.

1. Car Wash – it is for nice weather, but you may find that more club members can get involved in this one.

2. Other sales – take a set of specific items, such as books, or music, hold a collection, then sell. Be sure to inform donors as to where their donation is going to avoid misconceptions. The book sale we saw held in the campus center was successful because it appealed to a wide variety of students at a low price.

3. Competitive Event – everybody loves some friendly competition! While they may take some time to organize, sport tournaments, spelling bees, and talent shows all make for a good time.

However, if you’re still interested in the bake sale, we will see you in the campus center on Tuesdays of this semester!

Go Vikings!
