Part Time Job Fair Bringing Opportunity to Hudson Valley Students

The part-time job fair will be on Wednesday and Thursday, Sep. 10-11 on the first floor of the Siek Campus Center. It will take place from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on both daysThere will be a full-time job fair later in the school year, on Mar. 10.

This job fair is open to Hudson Valley students only.“[Employers] show a desire to hire Hudson Valley students,” said Susan Smith of the Center for Careers and Employment (CCE).

Each day there will be different employers available for students to choose from

Companies accepting applicants on Wednesday include Albany Broadcasting, Catholic Charities Disabilities Services, Chartwells, First Investors Corp and Rite Aid.

On Thursday Best Buy-Saratoga Springs, Fedex Ground, H & R Block, Lowe’s, Price Chopper, The Albany Devils, The Home Depot and UPS will all be present.

Aside from offering job fairs, the CCE office also offers job placement services and one-on-one employment counseling services. There is also a student and alumni job bank that houses opportunities from all over the Capital Region. Through the CCE, students can get assistance for everything from resume writing to interviewing skills, and learn helpful tips such as addressing periods of unemployment.
