Hollywood’s Bleeding Album Review
In “ Hollywood’s Bleeding” Post Malone guides us through his nights within the exclusive life of Hollywood. A life surrounded by vampires, zombies and witches. Post kicks off his album with the title track, which slips from rock, to hip hop and dance, foreshadowing the project’s formula. Throughout the tracks, Malone flexes his ability to effortlessly create melodies and hooks over expensive production. He touches on friends turned to enemies and his soulless romances. However, he never really dives deep into any substance, and instead, focuses on trying to keep his lyrics surface level. A highlight on the project is the track “Take What You Want” featuring Ozzy Osbourne and Travis Scott. Osbourne hits us with his classic ripping vocals while Scott finishes the track with smooth autotune melodies. In “Allergic,” another highlight on this album, Malone goes solo and mixes multiple eras of music, creating a pop masterpiece. There aren’t many, if any, skippable tracks in the album, but there also aren’t many tracks that will jump into your daily playlist other than a handful.
Hollywood’s bleeding, and it seems like Post Malone’s music already bled out any substance leaving us with shallow pop bangers. Final review 3 out of 5.
