Hudson Valley Community College’s Men’s Soccer team lost in the NJCAA Region 3 First Round game against No. 7 seed SUNY Broome Community College on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

The Vikings, who were the No. 10 seed, tied Broome 0-0 in double overtime before Broome claimed the tiebreaker with a 4-3 penalty kick win, officially ending the Viking Men’s soccer season.

The Vikings had just lost 9-0 in their regular season finale against the Genesee Community College Cougars on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The Cougars were led by Hiago Barros De Souza with four goals.

“We definitely had some ups and downs– regime change, for lack of a better word,” Hudson Valley’s Men’s Soccer Head Coach Devon Tomson said regarding the team’s season. “Coming in with new staff, new patterns, things to learn, etc,” Tomson continued. “But we were inconsistent– that’s the problem.”
