Hudson Valley Community College’swomen’s basketball team bests SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves in a 92-48 victory on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Lead scorer Emily Erickson, #2, believes in team cooperation exists off the courts as well as on game day.

“We need to continue working at being a team off the court because it takes being a team outside the game to really act as a team inside the game,” Erickson said.

Evidence shows the team has seemingly mastered successful team communication. Before halftime even arrived the Vikings had already scored 42 points, almost double the Timberwolves’ halftime score of 23.

The Vikings also demonstrated well-practiced individual skills. Out of 20 free throws the Vikings sunk 14 without a problem, making a 70% success rate teamwide.

Erickson was the MVP of the game– out of 21 attempted shots only 6 didn’t make it into the basket, and almost half were 3-point shots under single or double coverage.

The low score of the Timberwolves was really thanks to the Vikings excellent defense. WIth players like Erickson guarding the Timberwolves’ offense, it was difficult for the Timberwolves to get a chance of success.
