Women’s basketball rides Dutchess to victory

Hudson Valley Community College’s women’s basketball team defeated Dutchess County Community College in an on-campus game, 90-44 on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
The Vikings gained more of an advantage each period, continuously progressing their game. Within the first 10 minutes, they scored a 24-9 advantage.
Freshman Guard and adolescent education and global studies student, Emily Erickson, made a game-high of 24 points.
Among the four players that scored double-digit points were also exercise science student, Alexandra Rifenburg, with 14, criminal justice major, Anna VanRoy with 12 and cyber security student Nia Gray with 10.
The team made a total of 53 rebounds, just short of a quarter of which were scored by criminal justice major, Kylee Masse, tripling her average rebounds-per-game.
