“Write All Night” offers writing help

On Thursday, Nov. 14 Hudson Valley will hold its annual “Write All Night” program, offering extra help from writing specialists for students who need to complete final papers and other writing assignments. It will be held in the lower level of the Marvin Library Learning Commons in the ComputerLearningCenter.

This writing program will run from 10 p.m. until midnight, which means the library is open for two additional ours on this particular night.

“Write All Night” is sponsored by the Learning Centers. The event has been held for about seven years.

There will be writing specialists, tutors and librarians to help students with their writing. Students may also attend for extra help with research.

With an abundance of staff, students will not have to wait a long time for assistance.

“Write All Night” takes place once a semester during the school year. It typically lands sometime in November for the fall semester and sometime in April for the spring semester.

“Last year, the whole football team showed up, making the attendance around 100 students,” said James LaBate, writing specialist in the Writing and Research Center.

Typically, without counting the football team, there are usually around 40 to 50 students in attendance each year.

This event is free to all students and does not require registration.

“‘Write All Night’ is the right way to finish your semester,” said LaBate.
