Patricia Deangelis came to Hudson Valley to speak on the SUNY Delhi’s criminal justice program on Mar. 6.

“Stay close, go far,” she said about the program, since it is located in Schenectady County.

In order to apply for the criminal justice program in Delhi, a student must be in the final semester of an associate’s degree with a G.P.A. of at least 2.3. The application process was described in four steps.

The steps are completing the standard SUNY application online, handing in a Supplemental and Student Information form, sending official sealed college transcripts to Delhi, obtain a copy of a high school transcript, which does not have to be an official copy.

Both on campus and online classes are available at SUNY Delhi, and the cost of a three credit course is about $746.06, including other college fees. Financial aid is given to those who qualify.

Deangelis said that the classes in Delhi are small and can be interactive, unlike in other SUNY colleges that may be packed with a couple hundred students in one room.

She said her goal is for all students to be comfortable in their classes and to keep them from feeling like help cannot be given during class time. “\All my students know me and I know all my students,” she said.

SUNY Delhi will have representatives on campus again on Mar, 21, Apr. 17, and May 2.
