Dodgeball tournament at Springfest a success

“Let’s get ready to rumble!” shouted out across the Conway Ice Rink as 80 combatants and more than 150 spectators looked on for the HVCC Dodgeball tournament on April 30. The event was Admission was free with prizes awarded to the top teams. There was music by DJ KOMS during the three hour hilarity. Prizes were provided by Choices 301, HungerSolutions, and the HVCC Student Senate. (choices301.com, hungersolutionsny.org, www.hvcc.edu/studentactivities/studentgov.html)

The top ranking teams are as follows: Champions Bando’s Bandits lead by Deondre Mann won a sizable cash prize and gifted a portion of it back to Choices 301, second place Vikings were Captained by McKenzie Brisson who went away with two movie tickets for every player. Finally, third place was won by Captain Ashton McKenzie’s Football Team with a stack of $10 Chartwell gift cards as the prize. Every player was awarded with spirited competition and great memories.

Dodgeball is sponsored by the Investment Club and Armed Forces Club. “We are building a website to allow students and sponsors to more efficiently enter and share information,”  said Tournament Organizer Josh Carroll of the Investment Club and Armed Forces Club, who has already begun making plans for the next tournament. “The fall tournament will be better in every way!”
