The last band to have an album called “Hotel California” was the Eagles, but from one animal going extinct to another, Tyga’s new album is very distinctive.

Instead of soft rock like the Eagles, Tyga backs up a stacked YMCMB label that already has a big three in Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj.

Tyga has made a name for himself, being the fourth guy in line, with this being his third album and his second in two years. “Hotel California” follows “Careless World” and “No Introduction.”

“T-Raw” also has hit singles like “Rack City,” “Faded,” and “Muthaf**ka Up,” and adds to that with new singles “Dope” and “500 Degrees.” Those are the most recognizable singles on the new album and the two best songs on it.

But don’t be surprised if you hear “Diss Song,” “F*ck For the Road,” “Hijack,” and “Enemies” on the radio soon enough.

What also helps the chances of this album being successful is the star loaded lineup of guests. The big names include Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Jadakiss, 2Pac, Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, and 2 Chainz.

Being from Compton, California, Tyga gives this album a west coast feel that is similar to 2Pac, and ironically enough, he does a remix to 2Pac’s “Hit’em Up” with Jadakiss.

Unlike recent releases from other artists, “Hotel California” has 18 tracks and a variety of rhythms, tempo, meaning, and vocabulary.

The problem with this is that I find six songs that really stick out to me and the rest are just tracks that I couldn’t get into. But in my defense, any song with Future is really a turn off for me.

Tyga is young and upcoming and “Hotel California” is a good buy for someone who likes hip hop and rap.
