I Will Be Happy!

When the Sun’s vibrant reflection hits the horizon and the sky is filled with colors like a Scarlet Macaw, I will be happy!

When the laughter of children fill the hearts of all us lonely souls and allow ourselves to feel loved for once, I will be happy!

When the fresh rain drop from high up above falls on my tongue and awakens my taste buds right back up, I will be happy!

When the fur of my cats rub against my nose and cause a gentle sneeze, I will be happy!

And when the boy I’ve fallen for through my computer screen sends me a private chat saying “You want to hang out?” I will be happy!

For I have so many reasons to feel this way

A way of life I wish could forever stay

The happiness I feel is like a mother’s face when she holds her newborn for the first time or when she says ‘I do’ to her lover who’s bent down on his knee.

The happiness I feel

Is real no matter what the world around me says

or the voices deep within my head

For I have worked my ass off for this joy

So please don’t treat this side of me like a toy

The

clubs,

concerts,

volunteer gigs,

jobs

and hours hanging out with friends.

Have lead me to this happiness I feel

For when I look back at the life I’ve lived

and the memories I hold with it

I will be happy!

                                                                  and that’s enough for me.
