In what had the potential to be a very close win, the men’s basketball team fell to Finger Lakes Community College 78-82 on Saturday, Nov. 23.

The team was playing at the Siena College Athletic Complex where they lost the second game of the season. They had previously lost to Herkimer College.

“Honestly, we shouldn’t even have lost to Herkimer,” said individual studies student and Viking point guard,  Brandon McKenly. “We definitely had the potential to win that one,” he continued. “But we keep grinding, pushing forward [and] we take our losses, but we fight for our wins.”

McKenly also had the most amount of rebounds, totaling 11.

The game started out with a Viking advantage led by physical education major, Ryan Long, who scored 12 points in the first half, but couldn’t compete with the Lakers’ 50-points increase in the second half.

Will Aybar, entrepreneurship major, combined for the team’s most points and most assists, scoring 24.3% of the team’s total scores, and providing 8 assists.

Hudson Valley lost by a mere 4 points– 2 baskets away from an overtime game.
