Hudson Valley Community College men’s basketball team celebrated Coach Mike Long’s 500th career win prior to a home game win on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

The previous Saturday, the men’s basketball team had gone into overtime in an impressive comeback victory, making a compelling 500th win for Long. Long has been coaching at Hudson Valley for 7 seasons.

After celebrating, the Vikings won yet another game against Dutchess County Community College, making it the 6th win of the season out of a total of 7 games. The final score was 76-61.

The Falcons were able to keep up in the first half before the Vikings began to outscore. Will Aybar, entrepreneurship major, scored a game-high of 15 points, with 11 of them occurring in the second half.

Brandon McKenly, individual studies major followed with 14 points, alongside physical education student, Iziah Pigott’s 13.
