Public transportation salvation

At long last, night students can depend on CDTA for their traveling needs.

Previously, the last Albany-bound #24 bus to leave HVCC departed at 5:22 p.m. This left many students without the option to take night classes or stay late to work on class projects that require extra time and work.

If you were unfortunate enough to miss the bus for any number of reasons, you could either catch two connecting buses through Troy which could take up to two hours; you could call a $25 cab ; you could spend all night in the computer lab.

Luckily, for bus-bound students CDTA again recently expanded many of their routes. While the #24 was again left out of the expansion, CDTA expanded the “Shuttle Bee” route to serve the student body.

If you find yourself stuck on campus after 5:30 p.m., you can call them and they will send a shuttle to pick you up and bring you to the Defreestville Park and Ride where you can connect with the #14 into Albany. The cost of this chauffeured ride is 25 cents.
