Sheehan honored for hoop efforts

Hudson Valley women’s basketball player Kara Sheehan (Catholic Central) earned post-season honors. The first-year forward was selected as a Second Team All-Mountain Valley Conference player and a Third Team All-Region player.

Sheehan topped Hudson Valley with 17.4 points per game in 1999-00. She also averaged 8.0 rebounds per contest and shot 72.5 percent from the free throw line. The Vikings offensive leader hit 9 of 19 three pointers (47.4%) and recorded 52 steals, the second best on the team.
