Welcome Back BBQ Starts the Semester

Hudson Valley held their annual Welcome Back BBQ on Aug. 29 in the McDonough Sports Complex where free food, games and entertainment were offered for everyone on campus.
“The food was great for being free,” said Paige Hensen, Individual Studies freshman. “I was shocked by the cotton candy.”
The assortment of food consisted of hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni salad, fruit salad, cookies and cotton candy.
Chris’ Coffee offered free coffee for everyone. The local coffee company will be serving its products in the café of the new Science Center.
“People really like it. We are offering the Snicker Doodle, Jamaican Me Crazy, and the Capital blends,” said Tony Sbrega, a sales representative for Chris’ Coffee.
Entertainment was also offered for anyone in attendance.
“I really like that they have a dual Pac-man set up. That’s super awesome,” said Isaac Coffee, Engineering Science senior.
There was also a photo booth and a live performance from Joe Lowery and the Second Mile Blues Band.
“I like the music. It is great,” said Coffee.
Joe Lowery and the Second Mile Blues Band were excited to play for the first time at Hudson Valley.
“This is our first time playing at Hudson Valley Community College and we are looking forward to it. [It’s a] nice enthusiastic crowd to celebrate the opening of a new school season,” said Bacco, the band’s bass player.
